Starr Career Development Center:

“The Baruch Starr Career Development Center is honored to receive first, second, and third place awards at the CUNY Best Practices Awards that took place in April 2019 at the Career Services Association at CUNY meeting. We are grateful for the support we have received from Baruch faculty, staff, alumni, employer partners and students for making this possible for Starr. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone associated with Starr, and look forward to providing our students with innovative programs, and empower them with the tools to help them achieve their educational and career goals.” - Ellen Stein, director

Marxe School Graduate Career Services:

“We are thrilled to receive recognition from CUNY for our ‘Marxe Alumni Career Chats Series.’ This program allows us to bring alumni back to campus to speak to graduate students in an intimate setting about fields ranging from philanthropy and corporate social responsibility to higher education and nonprofit management. We believe that building an engaged campus alumni community is a huge asset to our students. The program also strengthens students’ career skills in networking and relationship building with senior level professionals.” - Suzanne Grossman, director

Zicklin School’s Graduate Career Management Center:

“The GCMC has elevated the profile of The Zicklin School of Business on several levels. GCMC was a pioneer in social media initiatives at Baruch College. We are thrilled to win numerous awards on local and national levels on our creative outreach to students and employees leveraging all kinds of new technology. Our efforts have increased student and employer usage and most of all improved our increased rankings over the past few years to all-time highs.” - Fred Burke, director

“We know our students spend a good amount of time online, so redesigning our on-campus recruiting (OCR) model to guide them throughout the process and answer questions virtually was crucial. We were also able to build a strong online community where students supported each other throughout the recruiting season, sharing experiences and offering advice – all in addition to our regular content and live Q&A sessions.” - Tanuja Ramchal, career advisor

“At Zicklin, approximately one-third of our graduate students pursue accounting and tax, so it has been important for us to serve this population in a streamlined way, especially during recruiting season. Our work for accounting and tax students has not gone unnoticed. In addition to the award, we have been able to garner interest from campus and external partners to hold additional programming for these students and alumni. We will now be holding three new alumni receptions at different accounting firms this summer.” – Stefano Verdesoto, assistant director of employer relations
