Dean’s Scholar Program
The Dean’s Scholars Program is a cohort of incoming first year students invited to participate in a scholarship-based program. Students can only join in this Honors program, if they were offered this opportunity upon entry into Baruch College, by the Undergraduate Admissions Office.
Goal: Engage Dean’s Scholars in the Baruch community and beyond, encourage Bearcat Pride, and promote graduation within 4 years while maintaining required GPA.
Objective: We strive to foster a strong sense of community among all Dean’s Scholars by offering a supportive environment, enhanced through the guidance of an assigned Academic Advisor and Peer Mentor.
Compliance
Students are required to:
- Maintain full-time status (minimum 12 credits each fall and spring semester).
- Maintain a minimum cumulative Baruch GPA of 3.2.
DS who do not meet these criteria will be placed on DS Probation. Students who fail to meet the criteria for two semesters during their four years in the DS program will be dismissed from the DS Program after the second violation.
Further details of Dean’s Scholars Requirements and Benefits can be found here.
Financial Aid
Dean’s Scholars are required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually. Baruch Federal Code is 007273.
New York State residents must also complete the TAP application, code: 1409 at HESC.NY.GOV (if bypassed during FAFSA submission).
Both applications must be finalized by March 15.
Undocumented and international students should not submit the FAFSA or TAP application.
The Dean’s Scholars Program provides students with a full-time, in-state tuition scholarship (up to 8 consecutive semesters) after all other grants and gift aid have been applied. Awards are applicable exclusively to the fall and spring semesters only.
The Dean’s Scholars Program does not change the student’s residency status.
