Topics and notes for CUNYfirst Reporting Instance training sessions for Query Managers.

Our plan is to schedule some 1-1.5 hr training sessions for Query Managers (and Viewers). The sessions will be recorded and be made available - possibly through a Blackboard organization (more info on this to follow).

  • Production Reporting vs Reporting Instance
    • Locating the Reporting Instance
    • Permissions and access for the Reporting Instance - roles and SACR - see CS Reporting Access Request Form and HR Reporting Access Form
  • Public query versus private query in the Reporting Instance
  • Viewing public and private queries and using prompts (finding terms, admit from, admit to, degree, academic plans etc)
  • Planning a query.  What user information is needed? 
  • What is a student?

  • Active Student vs Enrolled Student

  • Basic records in Campus Solutions: ACAD_PROG, ACAD_PLAN, STDNT_CAR_TERM, CLASS_TBL_SE_VW (STDNT_ENRL and CLASS_TBL).
