Fall Student Convocation
Fall 2024 Student Convocation is Tuesday, August 27
Convocation Day marks the official start of your journey at Baruch College. It’s not just an event—it’s the beginning of your transformational experience where you’ll be formally inducted into the college community. This day is filled with opportunities to connect with college leaders, meet classmates, and engage in activities that set the tone for your success.
For First-Year Students:
Convocation Day is a mandatory event that aligns with your First Year Seminar (FYS 1000). It’s your official welcome to Baruch, offering you a introduction to college life and a chance to bond with your cohort.
For Transfer Students:
You are warmly invited to join Convocation Day to get acquainted with the Baruch community. Participation is optional but highly encouraged as it offers a valuable opportunity to connect with the campus and its vibrant culture. Please RSVP via the link sent to your email, and we will inform you of your specific room assignment based on your response.
Schedule for the Day:
- 9:15am | Student Arrival
- 10:00am | Convocation Ceremony
- 10:35am | Baruch Beginnings Workshop
- Connect with fellow students, build new friendships, and gain essential tips to thrive in your first weeks of class. Get ready to start your college journey on the path to success!
- 12:00pm – 2:30pm | Club Carnival
- Get ready for an action-packed day as we kick off the semester with Club Carnival, where you can explore an exciting array of student clubs and organizations, connect with peers, and discover new passions. Plus, take some time to explore the vibrant neighborhood and local eateries for an unforgettable college experience!
- Location: Clivner=Field Plaza & NVC 1-107 (Multi-Purpose Room)
- 2:30pm – 3:00pm | Icebreakers hosted by the Undergraduate Student Government (USG)
- Kickstart your Baruch College experience with a fun and engaging session of icebreakers and team-building activities. Connect with your peers, make new friends, and build lasting connections that will enhance your journey at Baruch College!
- Location: Aux Gym, NVC B3 Level
Location Details:
First-Year Students: You will meet in a location based on your FYS 1000 section.
Transfer Students: Your room assignment will be provided after you RSVP.

Week of Welcome
Week of Welcome is a series of programs set during the beginning of the semester to welcome our students to Baruch and connect them to our vibrant campus life. There will be opportunities to meet club leaders, network with other students, and learn about the various resources available to help you succeed while at Baruch.
