Baruch College MBA Program Ranks Among Top 70 for Best Five-Year ROI by Forbes Magazine

NEW YORK, NY- October 10, 2013 - Baruch College was ranked among the Top 70 Colleges by Forbes Magazine for five-year return on investment of full-time MBA Programs. Its Total Five-year MBA Gain (five year compensation after graduation, minus the sum of tuition, fees, forgone compensation) has Baruch College ranked #66.

Forbes ranks full-time MBA programs every two years based on return on investment. This year Forbes found that having an MBA degree still pays off, but the average payback period for the Class of 2008 was 3.7 years versus 2.7 years a decade ago. Forbes’ eighth biennial ranking of business schools is based solely on the return on investment achieved by the graduates from the class of 2008. In their methodology, Forbes surveyed 17,000 alumni at 100 schools regarding their pre- and post-M.B.A. compensation, career choice and location.


Baruch College was recently recognized in other rankings for access, affordability and quality.

  • Baruch College ranked #3 among the list of 349 U.S. colleges in Washington Monthly’s (WM)“Best Bang for the Buck.” Washington Monthly launched the new ranking this year based on the economic value students receive per dollar. Baruch College was ranked #3 with 51% of students receiving Pell Grants; a 63% graduation rate; a 3% default rate on student loans and a Net Price of $3,429. The net price is the average tuition that first-time, full-time students from families with an annual income of $75,000 or less actually pay after subtracting the need-based financial aid they receive.
  • According to PayScale’s list of “Annual ROI,” Baruch College delivers the highest annual ROI for in-state students (10.6%) and out-of-state students (9.8%) of all public colleges and universities. In PayScale’s annual “College Education ROI Rankings” report, Baruch College ranks in the top 10%, at #108 out of the 1,060 public and private U.S. colleges and universities evaluated in the report.
  • Baruch College is ranked #21 among the "Top 100 Obama Scorecard Colleges," a list created by Affordable Colleges (AC) Online. With a total score of 78.72 and a low student loan default rate of 3.2%, Baruch College ranks in the Top 25.
