NEW YORK, NY- September 24, 2014  -  On September 23, 2014, Baruch College President Mitchel Wallerstein appeared on NY1 News’ political talk show, “Inside City Hall.”

President Wallerstein, along with President Gould of Brooklyn College, and President Rodríguez from Queens College, discussed various issues about higher education including Washington Monthly’s College Rankings where Baruch ranked #3 in the Best-Bang-for-the- Buck category.

Baruch was also ranked #26 in the category of "Affordable Elite Colleges."

Washington Monthly’s college rankings measure institutions based on civic engagement, research and social mobility. The publication gives high marks to institutions that contribute to society, enroll low-income students, help them graduate and don’t charge a fortune to attend.

The list features the colleges in America that “do the best job of helping non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices.”

Baruch College was ranked #3 with 46% of students receiving Pell Grants; a 63% graduation rate; a 5% default rate on student loans and a Net Price of $5,103. The net price is the average tuition that first-time, full-time students from families with an annual income of $75,000 or less actually pay after subtracting the need-based financial aid they receive.
