Lehr-Samuels, A., Thielman, P., McKinney, A., Sindhi, H., & Tsan, K.(n.d.). Center for Teaching and Learning Open Educational Resources (OER) Initiative Evaluation. In Progress.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of zero cost materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) for the faculty and students participating in the CUNY-wide OER Initiative at Baruch College. This is an evaluation of the methods and impacts of implementation across these groups. We anticipate that the data we collect will enable the Center for Teaching and Learning develop best practices for using OER and zero cost learning materials at Baruch and to inform our future programming on these topics. Additionally, we would like to share these best practices with the wider OER community at CUNY and beyond through presentations and/or publications.

Teaching and Learning with Technology Grant at Baruch CollegeInstructional Technology unit of the Baruch Computing and Technology Center (BCTC)2013The Makerspace is a place for all Baruch students and faculty to “create, build and craft” with 3D technology, electronics and other making tools. It will be located in the Lawrence N. Field Center during select hours. The Makerspace will support our STEM efforts to educate students in design, manufacturing, ideation and the ability to use technologies such as 3D modeling software and 3D printing. The Makerspace provides added value to the classroom by giving students and faculty hands-on access to the creative process and tools through “drop in” hours and scheduled classroom visits.
