| Martha Baird Rockefeller Fund for Music Grant | 1980 | Began in 1957 as a private philanthropy of Martha Baird Rockefeller (1895-1971), to respond to various needs she saw in the field of music. Its interest centered on young solo artists, who received support directly through individual grants designed to address specific problems in the early stages of a career, or indirectly through contributions to performance organizations that offered advanced training and employment in important capacities. The Fund was dissolved in 1982. |
