Christopher Guevara is currently a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at CUNY Baruch College. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics at Long Island University, and subsequently earned his doctorate at Tufts University. His areas of research interest include algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. His PhD thesis, entitled “The Moduli of Glued Subalgebras and Moduli of Singular Curves,” explores the construction of a moduli space of complete local rings associated with singularities of algebraic curves.

Dr. Guevara was previously an adjunct lecturer and tutor at LIU, Tufts, CUNY Queens College, and Suffolk County Community College. His passion for teaching has led him to engage in various university-affiliated programs as an instructor, including the prison initiative operating through Tufts and LIU’s Higher Education Opportunity Program.
