Dr. Edenberg's research focuses on using philosophical tools to inform a set of challenges related to deep moral, political, and epistemic disagreements in contemporary society. These conflicts range from divisions over the demands of justice, to political disagreement, to the role of technology in shaping our future. Her research takes up these challenges to find ways of cooperating in political life while continuing to respect our fellow citizens whose beliefs are quite different from our own. To tackle this complex set of problems, she draws on Rawlsian political liberalism, contemporary political epistemology, and interdisciplinary research in emerging technology to find tools for making progress on the kinds of real-world injustices, inequalities, and threats to democracy that impact contemporary society. Her research seeks to make contributions in three core subfields: political philosophy, political epistemology, and the ethics of technology.

Prior to joining Baruch College, Dr. Edenberg served as Senior Ethicist and Assistant Research Professor at Georgetown University’s Ethics Lab where she led translational ethics projects designed to empower both students and experts to address the urgent issues of our time. She led collaborations with a wide variety of partners beyond the academy, from public impact projects to policy teams seeking practical progress on complex ethical issues. She also led Ethics Lab’s work integrating ethics into courses across the university, from computer science to international policy and foreign service.
