Jerry Mitchell is professor of public policy. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Kansas. Courses include animal welfare and rights, introduction to public affairs, interpretive policy analysis, and urban economic development. He also teaches a seminar on New York City's future for the Macaulay Honors College. With funding from the Pricewaterhouse Endowment for the Business of Government, he conducted the first national study of business improvement districts in the early 2000s. His current research looks at the place of animals in politics, public administration, and public policy.
