- Biography
Neil Bennett is Professor of Public Affairs in the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College, and leads the Demography Certificate Program at the CUNY Graduate Center. He is also a Professor in the Sociology Ph.D. Program at the Graduate Center, and in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Department at the CUNY School of Public Health. He was the founding Director of the CUNY Institute for Demographic Research and the founding Executive Director of the New York Census Research Data Center. In the past he has served on the Boards of Directors of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the Guttmacher Institute. Dr. Bennett’s current research focuses on COVID vaccination strategies, the economic consequences of divorce, and the impact of AI on global employment. Dr. Bennett’s research interests also continue to lie in the areas of mortality, mathematical demography, and indirect demographic estimation.
He received his Ph.D. in Sociology at Princeton, with a specialization in mathematical demography, and an Sc.B. in Applied Mathematics at Brown.
