Xinran Wang is an Assistant Professor at the Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management, Zicklin School of Business. She received her PhD in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, & Organizations from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee. Before joining Baruch College, she taught at the Trulaske College of Business, University of Missouri.

Dr. Wang’s research focuses on the challenges and opportunities firms and technologies face during times of uncertainty and firm strategies to reconcile tensions. Her work places particular emphasis on the role of identity and linguistic fundamentals in decision-making. She explores these theoretical mechanisms using computational linguistics and textual entailment analyses of transcripts, including SEC filings, media statements, and corporate communications.

Her work has been recognized through the best paper awards from prestigious academies, including the Academy of Management (AOM), Strategic Management Society, and Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation. Her research has been published in prestigious journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Journal of Business Ethics, and Business & Society. The research has been featured in media such as AOM Insights, the AOM YouTube channel, industrial magazines, and influential blogs.
