Purpose

 

This document contains the top-level plan for training personnel in assisting with reports using existing queries to support daily repetitive requests.

 

Personnel

Role

 

The role of the personnel will be to assist the USER(s)/MANAGER with basic level query and report support, along with information gathering for new requests and scheduling of deliverables with input from manager/user(s).

 

Security

 

The personnel will need appropriate level clearance to execute the role.  The Manager will guide to provide such access.  Please follow the link in CF campus solution reporting access request form:  https://www.baruch.cuny.edu/confluence/x/ZhBvAQ

 

Core Goals

 

The personnel assigned will be expected to execute on the following tasks for the Manager:

 

  • Support various departments with reports
  • Receive requests from departments via
  • Document Query request and provide deadline
  • Review reports with the Manager and go back to client if more information is needed
  • Create queries to generate reports
  • Modify/Edit existing queries to meeting stakeholder request
  • Generate and compare report with history
  • Documentation and update Wiki with the new requirements
  • Archive reports in a secure manner
  • Deliver reports at least 48 hours before deadline

  • Reviewing existing documentation
  • Gather Basic understanding of CUNYFirst system
  • Initially give repeat requests to modify and generate reports
  • Understanding reports and comparing for accuracy
  • Planning and maintenance of deliverable calendar

  • Active Student vs Enrolled Student
  • Understanding records in Campus Solutions
  • Basic understanding of Records, Effective dating and Saving queries

 

Training

 

  • Review Wiki Documentations on queries, reports and process followed by Q&A with Manager
  • Review Basic CUNYFirst Training Guide followed by Q&A with Manager
  • Hands on Training with dummy queries
  • Hands on training with gathering requirements from stakeholders
  • Hand on training with scheduling deliverable calendar
  • Initial stakeholder deliverable report created with Manager’s supervision
  • Initial Training period will last for 4-6 weeks along with ongoing training till success metrics is met

 

Success Metrics

 

  • Ability to support repeat request and deliver accurate reports
  • Ability to identify and gather requirements for completing reports
  • Modify & Edit existing queries to support stakeholder
  • Deliver reports at least 48 hours before deadline
  • Document all the steps in wiki for a reference
